Gold is available in several different colors. Sometimes, jewelry manufacturers will combine different gold colors in one piece of jewelry. The most popular color is yellow gold followed by white gold and rose gold.
The differences in color depends on which metals are in the alloy mix. For example, yellow gold is a combination of pure gold, copper, and zinc. Rose gold combines pure gold with copper for the rose-reddish color.

These Hammered Rose Gold Diamond Earrings are a stunning example of the color difference between the typical yellow gold color and the pinkish color of rose gold. There are several rose gold pieces at LaurenKlein.com.

Have you ever heard of oxidized jewelry? Certain metals oxidize naturally. This means they tarnish and look old. Silver, for example, tarnishes if not cleaned and worn regularly. Jewelry manufacturers use a chemical process to oxidize jewelry on purpose, giving the piece an antique look.

This Oxidized Gold and Diamond Disc Bracelet has an edgy, antique look with a dazzling diamond stripe. Visit LaurenKlein.com for more oxidized jewelry!

April’s birthstone is the diamond. The diamond’s history dates back some 3000 years to India where it was used for decorative purposes because of its ability to refract light as well as a talisman to ward off evil and provide protection in battle.
The diamond is the hardest known substance on earth. It is formed deep below the earth’s surface over billions of years. Diamonds are 58 times harder than the next hardest mineral, corundum, from which rubies and sapphires are formed.

These 14K White Gold Diamond Princess Stud earrings are a beautiful example of what the Earth is capable of creating. You can find them on LaurenKlein.com, along with many other diamond pieces.

It’s all about the sparkle, right ladies? Who doesn’t feel special wearing a beautiful diamond that screams, “Look at me!”
Diamonds are classified based on four properties: color, clarity, cut, and carat. Each of these properties defines a diamond and its worth. Color is graded on a scale of D though Z, with D being colorless and Z considered fancy or orange.
Clarity is graded on a scale from flawless to Included. Flawless diamonds are very rare and very valuable. Small inclusions, imperfections inside a diamond determine its clarity grade.
The cut of a diamond actually includes two features; the shape and the make. The shape of the diamond is just that. There are round diamonds, pear-shaped diamonds, and marquise diamonds, to name a few. The make of the diamond has to do with how well a stone is cut and faceted to bring out its natural beauty. This is where the sparkle comes in.
The last aspect of diamond classification is carat weight. “Carat” is the unit weight of the stone and is equal to 0.200 grams. Bigger is not always more valuable when the other aspects of diamond classification are taken into consideration.
This Diamond Rose Bracelet from LaurenKlein.com is just one of the many beautiful diamond pieces on the website. Now that you know a little bit about diamonds, go visit the site. There’s something for everyone!

How you care for your gold jewelry will determine how long it remains shiny and luxurious. Gold is a soft metal that scratches easily. It should be handled with the utmost care to retain that “new” look for a long time. Here are some tips for cleaning and storing your gold jewelry.
- Remove gold jewelry before bathing, swimming, and cleaning. The harsh chemicals can dull the finish.
- Use a combination of mild dish soap and water to clean your gold pieces. Soak them for a few minutes and rinse. Only soak one piece at a time to avoid scratching.
- Buff gold jewelry with a soft chamois cloth to bring back the shiny finish.
- Store gold jewelry in a cloth lined box. If more than one piece is stored in the box, wrap each piece in tissue paper to prevent scratching.

This Gold Disc Necklace with Diamond Center should stay looking beautiful for years to come if cared for properly. Cleaning and storing your gold jewelry is easy to do and well worth it, especially if you’re planning on handing it down to future generations.
